Rightfully, we gave way to partake in a jubilee on Big Wednesday...and Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and the writing 's on the wall. Let's peek through some windows in to such vibrance, shall we?

So it was fun.
But Christmas is right around the corner and as far as small towns go this one knows how to throw a good hoot 'n holler. I couldn't wait to leave the pain cave at work and get on the road to what was going to be an amazing night. My niece - most precious thing ever - was in town and my time is her time for those brief familial moments.

I met Mel and Emil right after work at the house and we weren't about to go down to the tree lighting empty handed. Emil rolled out with some wine and we headed off for the countdown. We trotted down University and cut right to the park. Baker and Nicole and their relatives were at N. SC/E.M streets and we said hello, exchanged hugs and Christmas yarg before heading to the center of the fiesta to meet Mom and Dad...and yes of course Kaycee.
10...9...8...7... I spot them at the corner of the fountain looking up at the tree in Lindon Plaza...6...5...4...run up behind Kaycee, throw her up to my shoulders and the two of us giggled and counted our way down to the wonderful display of tradition and togetherness...3...2...1...!!! Chuckdad and Mom enjoyed some of the grog we brought from the house. And everyone had giant smiles on there face.
I mean everyone. Kaycee and I trotted through the crowd, bobbing and singing carols with the crowd around the stage below the lit tree. Her bliss was flowing right down into me and I felt like I was back running through that same crowd as a kid. The same big smiles on every ones faces. The same big tree, the same big time.

We've decked the halls
We've gathered at the pub
We've sang carols wrong
We've placed trees on the lawn
Lit a house up and some wine bottles to
We'll do it again in a few days with you
